A Common Sense Parenting workshop was recently held at the Barataria North Secondary School, running from Monday April 29 to Monday June 3, 2013. Grand-parent Lyn Sonny was a participant and wanted to share her views on the programme.
I think the Common Sense Parenting (CSP) programme is great. I like the consequences to help correct behaviour instead of punishing children. It helps to bring families closer together, especially the use of the family meetings. I plan to have another family meeting before the holidays so my four grandchildren and I could create a chart of things to do and activities for during the vacation. I recommend that parents and grandparents do the CSP programme. I read the book early in the morning so that I could remember and use the skills during the day with my grandchildren.
