When we receive favor from the Lord we enter into any situation head strong saying: “Lord do it again” right? This is how I felt attending the Sacramental Marriage Building two-day workshop hosted by the Archdiocesan Family Life Commission I now have.
Saturday 17th May was rainy, but the warm greetings and the breakfast just before start set the tone for greatness. The diversity of participants: married, unmarried, common law and separated were all gathered. After the relationship cycle was explained, the atmosphere created by the coordinators moved me to testify. Couples were educated as they expressed some of their concerns regarding long distance relationships, understanding each other and opposite attractions. Some shared that the exercises had them falling in love all over again. The first day was breathtaking and as it came to an end we were reminded to start with pray as we meet the next day at mass.
Sunday 18th many more showers came; convinced I was not attending day two I got a message from one participant; then a call from another who offered to come get us – this brought me to tears. Unable to reach mass, I felt as though I missed the most important part…however, the day turned out to be nothing short of a blessing. The videos were appropriate: apologies, perspectives and, or thought provoking: ‘God gives us new wine’. The messages: ‘your spouse has what is needed to make you a saint’, take aways: remember to ‘check in’ and my husband’s favorite: ‘everything is a prayer’. The atmosphere was filled with love: couples embraced each other and gave quick kisses, some admitted they were heading apart but now understand each other well enough to take the next step. Sadly, the workshop came to an end giving hope to the future of healthy marriages – God did it again.
The Skills for Sacramental Marriage Building accompaniment sessions were held on May 17 and 18, 2025 at the Seminary of St. John Vianney. For information on upcoming sessions, contact us at email: familylife@catholictt.org; WhatsApp: 299 1047, visit our website: aflcrc.org.
