A Season of Hope, Prayer, and Family Togetherness.

Dear Families,

Welcome to our AFLC Advent Page — a sacred space created just for you as we begin this beautiful season of preparation and anticipation. Advent is a precious time in the life of the Church, and in the life of every domestic church — your home. It is a season that calls us to pause, breathe, reflect, and make room in our hearts for the coming of Christ.

Why Advent Matters

Advent is more than a countdown to Christmas.
It is a season of hope, where we remember God’s promises.
A season of peace, as we ready our hearts for Christ’s presence.
A season of joy, knowing that God is near.
And a season of love, inviting families to grow closer to God and to one another.

Lighting the candles each week reminds us that even in the midst of busyness, Christ is our light — steady, guiding, and faithful.

Making Advent Special as a Family

This season offers countless opportunities for families to slow down and reconnect:

  • Create an Advent wreath together and light it each week.

  • Pray as a family — even one minute a day makes a difference.

  • Choose simple acts of kindness to share Christ’s love with others.

  • Read Scripture together or reflect on the theme of each Advent week.

  • Set aside time for quiet moments, gratitude, and togetherness.

Let your home become a place where faith is lived, shared, and celebrated.

Advent Dates for 2025

  • Advent Begins: Sunday, November 30, 2025

  • Advent Ends: Wednesday, December 24, 2025 (Christmas Eve)

We invite you to walk this journey with us — gently, prayerfully, and with hearts open to the wonder of Christ’s coming.
May this Advent be a season of renewal, connection, and deep joy for your family.

Welcome — your Advent journey begins here.

Families, let’s celebrate Advent 2025!

AFLC Advent Family Wreath Campaign 2025

“Gather. Prepare. Hope.”

As we enter the beautiful season of Advent, the Church invites families to slow down, come together, and prepare their hearts for the coming of Christ. Advent is a time of waiting, hope, prayer, and joyful expectation — and one of the most meaningful traditions that helps us live this out is the Advent Wreath.

The wreath’s circular shape reminds us of God’s endless love. The evergreens symbolize life and hope. Each candle marks a step along our four-week journey: Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. Lighting the Advent Wreath at home turns ordinary family moments into sacred spaces — moments of connection, reflection, and grace.

This year, the Archdiocesan Family Life Commission invites families across the Archdiocese to create their own Advent Wreaths. Be as simple, creative, traditional, or fun as you wish! What matters most is coming together as a family to prepare for Jesus’ birth.

How Your Family Can Participate

✨ Make your Advent wreath at home — reuse what you have, gather natural materials, or craft something new.
✨ Snap a photo of your finished wreath and WhatsApp it to 299-1047.
✨ Please include a short write-up sharing:
* What inspired your design
* What Advent means to your family
* Any special traditions you include as you light each candle

Let’s fill this Advent season with hope, creativity, and family prayer.

Together, as the domestic church, let us prepare the way of the Lord.
