Family Fun Day 2025!

On Saturday, July 19, Presentation College, Chaguanas came alive as families, friends, parish communities and vicariates gathered for the Jubilee Family Fun Day. The event was nothing short of unforgettable, filled with laughter, connection, and the vibrant spirit of the Catholic community.

The day began with a prayer led by Fr. Ransome, Vicar of the Central Vicariate and parish priest of St. Phillip and St. James, who set the tone with words of gratitude and blessing. His prayer reminded all present that faith is the foundation of every joyful gathering.

At 8:30am, the creative energy of the sip and paint sessions brought colour and conversation as participants painted, sipped, and connected across two engaging sessions. Meanwhile, the football field came alive at 9am with friendly competition as teams representing the North, Suburban, Central, and Eastern vicariates battled it out in a lively tournament that had spectators cheering.

Inside, the excitement continued with board games, card games, and table tennis, all of which provided lighthearted competition and laughter. For the younger ones, the Kids Zone was a world of delight with its bouncy castle, snow cones, cotton candy, and popcorn, creating lasting memories for the little ones and their families.

A major highlight of the day was the Domestic Church tent, which hosted a creative scavenger hunt designed for families. This interactive experience guided participants through the “rites of the domestic church,” focusing on relationship, rituals, and reaching out. It was a fun and engaging way for families to reflect on how they could live out their baptismal call as priest, prophet, and king within their homes.

Adding to the day’s richness were key partners and sponsors, including  Guardian Life, KSBM Asset Management, Innovative Security, Len Hap Supermarket, Pizza Boys, Visual Eyes,  Every Bottle Back, Angostura, Robard Insurance, Dairy Dairy, Creamery, and Guiltless Yogurt, Marios, and all others who supported,  some of whom offered treats, giveaways, and engaging displays that brought extra joy to attendees.

A particularly meaningful highlight was the Bethesda Community’s sensory-friendly space at the Catholic Centre. This inclusive area provided a welcoming environment for persons with disabilities, demonstrating the event’s heart for community and belonging for all. A special thank you to  Archbishop Jason Gordon for spending  most of the day with us.

From prayer to play, and from art to sport, the Jubilee Family Fun Day was a true celebration of faith and fellowship. As the sun set on the grounds of Presentation College, one thing was certain: this was not just a day of activities – it was a reminder of the joy and unity that come when families and communities gather in the love of Christ. See you next year with your picnic basket. Check the AFLC’s website – aflcrc.org and social media for photos.
